Schedule: Full-Time, 3 12s, Nights (3rd Shift)
Job Summary: The Nurse Resident administers patient care in an area within a hospital or inpatient/observation setting, where acute care patients receive active treatment for injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, or post intervention with assessment.
Please note: This position is intended for licensed registered nurses with under one year of experience. Applicants must hold an active Florida or compact multistate RN license to be considered.
The Orlando Health Registered Nurse Residency Program is accredited by the ANCC Practice Transition Accreditation Program (PTAP) Our Nurse Residency is a 12 month, ANCC accredited program that supports any RN with under one year of experience through structured training, preceptorship, monthly classes, and simulation to transition into independent practice.

QualificationsEducation/Training:
- Graduated from nursing school.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the unit/department.
Licensure/Certification:
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Florida or valid Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) multistate RN license.
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas.
Essential Functions:
- Administers bedside patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting under the supervision of a preceptor, leader, and/or charge nurse.
- Assesses patients’ needs and develops/revises individualized plans of care based on their needs and responses. Evaluates patients’ progress toward attaining expected outcomes.
- Respects diversity by building respectful relationships with all team members and customers.
- Functions as an advocate for patients and their families.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on their assigned unit/department.
- Serves as a preceptor, charge nurse, unit educator, and/or nurse clinician.
