Assistant RN Manager

Encompass Health seeks an Assistant RN Manager to support clinical leadership on our inpatient rehabilitation unit. In this on-site role, you'll coordinate nursing staff, oversee daily workflows, and provide direct, evidence-based care to patients recovering from major illnesses and injuries. You'll collaborate with an interdisciplinary team on individualized care plans, support quality and safety initiatives, mentor nurses, and help drive a culture of compassion, integrity, and continuous improvement in a clinically advanced, growth-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Support RN Manager in overseeing day-to-day nursing operations on the rehabilitation unit
• Coordinate and supervise nursing staff assignments, workflows, and coverage
• Provide direct patient care, assessment, and evidence-based rehabilitation nursing interventions
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Monitor quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, assisting with audits and performance improvement initiatives
• Mentor, coach, and support nursing staff, fostering teamwork and professional development
• Assist with onboarding and training of new nurses and support staff
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and providers to support recovery goals
• Participate in staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient care needs
• Contribute to a culture of compassion, integrity, respect, and continuous improvement
