Director of Nursing (DON)
Our company is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Director of Nursing (DON) to join our growing team!
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and success of the Nursing Department. The DON ensures the delivery of high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, staff development, and clinical excellence throughout the facility. The DON serves as a role model for nursing staff while promoting positive clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, resident satisfaction, and a culture of teamwork and accountability.
Directorof Nursing (DON) Responsibilities:
Direct and oversee all nursing operations within the facility.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
Provide leadership, supervision, and support to nursing staff.
Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate nursing personnel.
Monitor clinical outcomes and implement quality improvement initiatives.
Oversee staffing levels to ensure quality resident care and operational effectiveness.
Manage infection prevention, risk management, and survey readiness activities.
Collaborate with physicians, department heads, residents, and families to promote optimal care outcomes.
Assist in budget development and maintain effective cost controls within the nursing department.
Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, and professional growth.
Qualifications:
Current RN license in good standing.
Minimum of 3 years of nursing leadership experience, preferably as a DON, ADON, or Nurse Manager in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
Strong knowledge of long-term care regulations, survey processes, and clinical standards.
Proven leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Experience with staffing, budgeting, and performance management.
Strong clinical assessment and problem‑solving abilities.
Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Demonstrated commitment to providing exceptional resident‑centered care.
