This position is responsible for providing oversight, direction, and guidance to the Supplier Quality Team while ensuring conformance to contractual and sub-contractual requirements. Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components and/or operations. Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures (e.g., ISO 9001:2015, AS9100D family of standards), quality audits/review, Taguchi methods, process reengineering, etc.

- Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges
- Decisions and problem solving are guided by policies, procedures and department plan; receives guidance from manager
- Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers
- Consistent exercise of discretion & judgment
- Manages the evaluation and monitoring of vendor operations to ensure products and services comply with government and company quality standards.
- Oversees audits and establishes testing procedures.
- Sets KPIs, metrics, specifications, processes, and policies used to evaluate quality.
- Reviews and negotiates service level agreements to ensure performance/quality metrics, responsibilities, expectations, and penalties are defined.
- Creates systems and frameworks to identify, track, and resolve vendor quality issues and develop performance improvement initiatives with partners.
- Develops strategies to identify and assess potential new vendors.
- Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & Senior Leadership.
- First Article Inspections (FAI)
- interface regularly with USG &/or DCMA customers
- Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
- Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Business or other Engineering-related degree preferred
- Certifications: ISO
9001:2015 Lead auditor or AS9100D Lead Auditor;
Six Sigma Green Belt. Certified Quality Engineer - Knowledge, skills & abilities: Contract Negotiation. Issue Resolution. Performance Analysis. Quality Audit. Quality Control/Testing. Quality Improvement. Quality Inspection. Vendor Management. Performance Metrics. Service Level Agreements (SLA). Strategic Planning. Quality Standard Development. Operational Policy Development. Vendor Evaluation. Strong Mechanical background.
- Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.
25-50% travel likely.
