The Opportunity
Custom Manufacturing & Engineering (CME) is seeking a Quality Inspector to ensure electronic assemblies, wire harnesses, mechanical assemblies, machined parts, and finished products meet engineering requirements, customer specifications, and CME quality standards.
This is a hands-on role for someone with a strong eye for detail who takes pride in ensuring products are built right.
What You Will Do- Perform visual and microscopic inspections of PCB/circuit card assemblies (CCAs), wire harnesses, box builds, mechanical assemblies, machined parts, and finished products
- Inspect workmanship to IPC-A-610 and IPC/WHMA-A-620 standards, drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Perform incoming, in-process, first article, and final inspections
- Verify product requirements using calipers, multimeters, and other inspection/test equipment
- Read and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, and manufacturing instructions
- Document inspection results and create Nonconformance Reports (NCRs)
- Identify and control nonconforming material through Material Review Board (MRB) processes
- Support Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs) and root-cause investigations
- Work with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and suppliers to resolve quality issues
- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records
- 1–3 years of quality inspection experience in electronics or manufacturing
- Experience inspecting PCB/CCAs, wire harnesses, electro-mechanical assemblies, or similar products
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications
- Strong visual acuity, attention to detail, and ability to inspect using magnification
- Familiarity with measurement and test equipment such as calipers and multimeters
- Basic computer skills for inspection records, ERP systems, and technical documentation
- IPC-A-610 and/or IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification strongly preferred
- Support products used in aerospace, defense, industrial, and energy markets
- Work directly with manufacturing and engineering on mission-critical hardware
