Duties
  • Welcome customers and maintain product knowledge to aid in merchandise selection.
  • Respond promptly to customer concerns with a sense of importance.
  • Sell merchandise and provide outstanding service, including demonstrating and explaining technical features.
  • Perform periodic stock counts and participate in inventories.
  • Replenish stock and maintain merchandise in neat and presentable condition.
  • Advise supervisor or department head of customer requests.
  • Receive cash, checks, credit/debit cards, and gift cards; give accurate change using the cash register.
  • Maintain accurate sales records, reconcile at shift end, and account for all monies and items sold.
  • Perform price changes (markdowns or markups) and set company promotions, ensuring correct signage and label changes.
  • Follow all policies regarding loss prevention, shrink awareness, and the alert line.
  • Follow established safety standards and emergency preparedness requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • Receive and process incoming freight and, when required, drive the store vehicle to deliver merchandise to satellite stores.
Evaluation

You will be evaluated for this position based on how well you meet the qualifications below. Your resume/application must demonstrate the required experience or education.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Ability to stock merchandise, assist patrons, and operate a cash register. Demonstrated through reading, comprehending, and explaining product literature; and basic math skills (count, subtract, multiply, divide) for stocking and inventory. Evidence may be a high school course work, GED, or high school diploma.
  • Physical ability to routinely lift 10 pounds and occasionally lift 25 pounds, and to stand for long periods of time.
