GEO Security Corporation, a family-owned Central Florida security company, is hiring licensed School Guardians to help protect students, staff, and school campuses in the St. Petersburg area. Guardians provide a professional, armed safety presence during school hours in coordination with school administration, under Florida's School Guardian Program.
Responsibilities: maintain a visible professional security presence during school hours; monitor entrances, exits, and campus grounds; respond immediately to safety concerns per school protocols; coordinate daily with school administration and GEO Security supervisors; complete incident and daily activity reports; maintain Florida School Guardian Program standards.
Minimum qualifications:
valid Florida Class D Security Officer License; valid Florida Class G Statewide Firearm License;
Certificate of Guardian Training (168-hour program conducted through the Florida Sheriff's Office); legal authorization to work in the United States; successful background screening; all Florida School Guardian Program eligibility requirements.
Schedule and pay: consistent weekday schedule aligned with the school calendar; $22-$24 per hour with weekly pay and direct deposit; uniform provided; opportunities for overtime and additional assignments.
