Position OverviewAre you ready to learn a skilled trade and build a long-term career in the commercial glass and glazing industry? This is the perfect opportunity to get your start. As an Apprentice Glazier with Countryside, you’ll work alongside experienced glaziers to learn the craft of cutting, assembling, fitting, and installing metal-framed glass enclosures for new and existing structures.
Key Responsibilities- Assist glaziers with transporting tools, materials, and glass on job sites.
- Help unload and organize glass, mirrors, tools, and materials under supervision, using suction cups or other equipment.
- Support the preparation and installation of metal sashes, moldings, and frames for glass installation.
- Learn how to fit and secure glass panels in pre-assembled frames using hand tools.
- Assist with measuring and marking glass and mirror dimensions to ensure accurate cuts and fits.
- Observe and practice cutting, fitting, and installing glass and substitute materials (e.g., plastics, aluminum) under guidance.
- Help secure mirrors and glass using approved adhesives, fasteners, or sealants.
- Learn to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and installation instructions with support from senior glaziers.
- Perform general labor tasks such as carrying materials, cleaning work areas, and preparing tools for use.
- Participate in hands-on training to develop technical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills for future glazier responsibilities.
- No prior glazing experience required — training will be provided
- Ability to accurately measure materials
- Comfortable working at heights (ladders, scaffolding, lifts)
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds frequently and occasionally up to 80 pounds.
- Positive, self-motivated, and results-oriented individual who thrives in a collaborative environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean DMV record with no restrictions.
