Position Summary

Clark Electric is seeking an experienced and dependable Night Shift Journeyman Electrician to perform commercial, industrial, and facility electrical work during scheduled overnight projects.

This position is intended for an electrician who is comfortable working a consistent four-day, 40-hour night schedule from 9:00 PM to 7:00 AM
. Night-shift assignments may continue for several months at a time, depending on project requirements.

The ideal candidate can work independently, lead helpers or apprentices when assigned, troubleshoot electrical systems, complete installations safely, and communicate clearly with project managers, facility representatives, and Clark Electric's internal service team.

Typical Work Schedule
  • Four 10-hour shifts per week
  • Standard shift: 9:00 PM-7:00 AM
  • Night assignments may last several consecutive months
  • Workdays may vary depending on customer and project requirements
  • Occasional overtime, weekend work, or schedule adjustments may be required
  • Must be consistently available and reliable for overnight work
Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform commercial and industrial electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
  • Complete electrical work in occupied facilities during scheduled shutdowns or after normal business hours
  • Install and repair conduit, wiring, panels, disconnects, lighting, controls, transformers, and related electrical equipment
  • Troubleshoot electrical circuits, equipment, lighting systems, and power distribution systems
  • Read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-line diagrams, panel schedules, and project documents
  • Perform circuit tracing, equipment testing, voltage checks, and electrical system diagnostics
  • Coordinate planned shutdowns and system energization with customers and Clark Electric management
  • Lead and direct apprentices or electrical helpers when assigned
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift
  • Document completed work, materials used, labor hours, jobsite conditions, and additional work identified
  • Provide clear shift updates and turnover information to Clark Electric’s service and project management teams
  • Follow all OSHA requirements, NFPA 70E practices, electrical codes, customer safety policies, and Clark Electric procedures
  • Maintain company tools, vehicles, testing equipment, and assigned materials
  • Represent Clark Electric professionally while working inside customer facilities
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of five years of commercial or industrial electrical experience
  • Journeyman electrician certification or license where required by the applicable jurisdiction
  • Strong knowledge of commercial electrical systems and the National Electrical Code
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot electrical systems independently
  • Experience working with 120/208V and 277/480V electrical systems
  • Ability to bend and install EMT and rigid conduit
  • Ability to terminate electrical panels, disconnects, transformers, motors, lighting controls, and related equipment
  • Ability to read electrical plans, specifications, and panel schedules
  • Ability to safely use meters, testing equipment, power tools, ladders, and lifts
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to report consistently for overnight shifts
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers, supervisors, and other trades
  • Ability to pass applicable background screening, drug testing, and customer site-access requirements
Preferred Experience
  • Commercial service and troubleshooting experience
  • Industrial or manufacturing facility experience
  • Retail, healthcare, education, property management, or occupied-facility experience
  • Electrical shutdown and overnight renovation experience
  • Lighting retrofit and lighting controls experience
  • Motor, contactor, control circuit, and equipment troubleshooting experience
  • Experience supervising apprentices or small electrical crews
  • OSHA 10, OSHA 30, NFPA 70E, aerial lift, or related safety certifications
