Electrician

The Electrician is directly accountable to the Assistant Facilities Director for the following duties and responsibilities.

The individual filling this position is expected to play a positive role in helping the College change as necessary to effectively carry out its mission.

• Monitor and maintain all lighting and electrical circuitry campus-wide with special attention to Life Safety regulations (exit lighting, generators, storage/hallway/stairwell accessibility and lighting, etc.).
• Troubleshoot faulty circuits to their source and repair or replace any or all materials necessary.
• Run new circuits and their corresponding conduit, junctions, panels and switches as needed.
• Be available 24/7/365 in the case of a power failure due to weather, accident, or intentional vandalism or tampering.
• Complete annual mandatory compliance training.
• And other duties as required.

• Technical training from a trade school, college, or university, with a Florida state license preferred and 5 years of experience in a commercial setting.
• Completed certification, diploma, degree, or similar education to be substituted for years of experience in the field, year for year.

The physical demands of this position are those of working in various open and closed environments. Must be able to walk across campus as needed. May be required to lift up to 25 lbs. May be exposed to seasonal environmental conditions of heat, cold, and/or rain.
