Outreach Specialist

Your Mission As an Outreach Specialist, you’ll deliver direct, street-level support through our Street Safe program for runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth (16–24) in St. Petersburg—helping interrupt pathways to sexual abuse and exploitation through trust, safety, and smart connection to resources.

Key responsibilities include:

- Proactively engage youth and families; build rapport and assess needs using a trauma-informed approach
- Provide street-based education, crisis support, and targeted referrals to health care and social service partners
- Coordinate with community agencies and support services at the Safe Connections homeless resource center
- Provide transportation in an agency vehicle when needed and distribute survival supplies during outreach
- Complete timely, accurate documentation and data entry (HMIS/other systems) and maintain client files $22.88/hour for a full-time, onsite role in St. Petersburg with a 35-hour work week (Monday–Friday, 9:00am–4:00pm). Required qualifications/skills:

- Strong interpersonal communication, time management, and computer/data-system proficiency
- Knowledge of community resources and the social services delivery system; ethical conduct and confidentiality
- Ability to work independently, accept feedback, and follow agency policies
- Valid Florida driver’s license, clear driving record, current auto insurance; personal cell phone- DJJ-compliant background screening
