Speechify’s mission is to make reading accessible to everyone. Over 50 million users rely on Speechify’s text‑to‑speech products across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome Extension, and Web to transform PDFs, books, Google Docs, news articles, and websites into audio.

We are expanding our AI team’s data side and need a skilled Software Engineer to lead end‑to‑end data collection for model training. The role focuses on building high‑quality, petabyte‑scale datasets at low cost through integrated infrastructure, engineering, and research work.

• Identify new audio data sources and ingest them into the pipeline.
• Operate and extend the cloud infrastructure for ingestion, currently on GCP and managed with Terraform.
• Collaborate with scientists to improve cost, throughput, and data quality for next‑generation models.
• Work with the AI team and leadership to define the dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products.

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 5+ years in software development.
• Proficient in Bash/Python scripting in Linux environments.
• Experienced with Docker, infrastructure‑as‑code, and at least one major cloud provider (GCP).
• Knowledge of web crawlers and large‑scale data processing is a plus.
• Strong multi‑tasking, adaptability, and written/verbal communication skills.

Base salary range: $140,000‑$200,000 (United States) plus bonus and equity based on experience.
