Senior Engineer, HP NonStop Development

Job Summary

Hybrid work model. The selected candidate will be in the office 50% of the business days at either St. Petersburg, FL or Memphis, TN. The role is not eligible for work visa sponsorship.

• Analyze business requirements, problems and deliver quality technical solutions.
• Develop existing applications and contribute to the development of new applications.
• Identify areas for modification and improvement and develop routine applications to meet customer requirements.
• Leverage AI platforms for documentation, test automation, support and respond to user IT and business stakeholders.
• Monitor batch jobs, diagnose and correct performance issues.
• Monitor, identify and correct software defects and find creative ways to maintain fully functioning application software.
• Work collaboratively with stakeholders and may lead assigned projects, including assigning tasks, coordinating efforts, and monitoring performance.
• Recommend new technologies and methodologies to management to meet business needs.
• Participate in software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
• Provide technical advice and assist in solving programming problems.
• Write and/or review system specifications, including output requirements and flow charts.
• Create and maintain technical and/or user documentation to a high standard, and back up files to ensure instant recovery if problems occur.
• Ensure proper analysis of problems and programming approaches to prevent rework and schedule slippage.
• Communicate clearly and effectively through a variety of media.
• Continuously integrate AI-based tools into daily workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• More than five (5) years of relevant development or engineering experience.
• Experience in HP Non Stop COBOL
  85, HPNS SQL/MX and SQL/MP.
• Experience in Pathway servers and configuration.
• Experience working on HP Non Stop/Tandem Guardian OS application development.
• Full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) experience.
• Experience with batch job processing and handling large data volumes.
• Experience with Agile, Waterfall and Hybrid software development methodologies.
• Experience with brokerage and clearing business/industry is nice to have.
• Experience with Middle Office and Back Office domains is a strong plus.
• Experience with messaging platforms (e.g., MQ) is a plus.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
• Experience working in remote and globally distributed business environments.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer and Information Science, or Computer Engineering.
• High School diploma or equivalent (required).
• No specific licenses or certifications required.

Travel less than 25%. May occasionally work a non‑standard shift, including nights and/or weekends, and/or have on‑call responsibilities (once every 5‑6 weeks). Hybrid work style.

The total compensation for this position includes base salary or wages and may include components such as additional compensation (cash or equity), discretionary bonuses, or commissions.
