Senior Full Stack Developer

Join an exciting Fin Tech/Payments company as it builds a new technology platform and business offering from the ground up. We seek Senior Full Stack Developers with 15-20 years of experience designing and delivering high-quality software products. These positions will consist of about 80% backend and 20% front-end.

Location Requirements:

• Candidates must be based in the Tampa Bay area (preferably St. Petersburg, FL) or the Dallas, TX metro area (Plano or Frisco preferred).
• Please do not apply outside of these markets unless you are willing to relocate on your own.
• This is a hybrid role requiring in-office onsite three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).

Overall Duties:

• Part of a team to lead the architecture and design of a modern technology platform.
• Develop highly scalable, secure, cloud-native applications utilizing Java and the Spring ecosystem.
• Partner with executive leadership to align technical strategy with business objectives.
• Define software engineering standards, architectural patterns, and development best practices.
• Mentor and coach software engineers while fostering a collaborative engineering culture.
• Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance across development teams.

The current tech stack includes Java 25, React 19, Spring Boot 4.1, Spring Framework, Hibernate, REST APIs, PostgreSQL, Git, Maven, Claude Code, and AWS.

Requirements:

• Approximately 15–20+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive experience designing and building enterprise Java applications.
• Deep expertise with:
• Java
• Spring Boot and Spring Framework
• Hibernate
• REST APIs
• PostgreSQL
• React
• Maven
• AWS Cloud Services (ECS/Fargate preferred)
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud architecture.
• Experience designing highly available, scalable software platforms.

• Payment processing or financial services technology
• PCI DSS v4 compliance
• SOC 2 Type II controls
• Secure software development
• Event-driven architecture
• RabbitMQ, Kafka, or JMS messaging
• Kotlin
• AI-assisted software development tools
• Building software within regulated environments
