Job Title: Private or Group Swim Lesson Instructor, Jim & Heather Gills Branch YMCA

Description: The Y is the nation's largest provider of swim lessons to increase skill and safety in and around water. This position provides direct leadership, instruction and motivation for students in swimming classes. Part-time position instructing students in swimming and/or exercise fundamentals. Ensures proper techniques and use of equipment while providing a safe environment for learning. We teach classes ranging from Parent/Child through Adult.

Responsibilities are described through the description and requirements above and include instructing swim lessons and maintaining a safe learning environment.

• Current CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED, Basic First Aid, and swim lesson instructor certifications are a plus. We also conduct in-house training.
• Must be able to demonstrate swim instructor skills in accordance with YMCA standards.
• Ability to instruct and observe participants in proper stroke techniques, to lift equipment, and to lift a small to average size child.
• Must be available to work flexible hours and be comfortable working with all ages and skill levels.
• Minimum age 16.

$15-20/hour, depending on experience.
