St. Petersburg Catholic High School is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated JV Cheer Coach/Assistant Varsity Cheer Coach to lead and develop the junior varsity cheerleading program while supporting the varsity cheer squad. This position plays an important role in building school spirit, supporting athletic teams, and fostering the personal growth of student‑athletes in a faith‑based educational environment.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoach, mentor, and develop the JV cheer team in skills, technique, and performance.
Assist the Varsity Head Coach with practices, game‑day responsibilities, and performances.
Promote school spirit at athletic events, pep rallies, and campus activities.
Create a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment that emphasizes teamwork, sportsmanship, and Baron pride.
Support the planning and supervision of practices, choreography, and conditioning sessions.
Assist with organizing and supervising team logistics (uniforms, equipment, transportation, etc.).
Monitor the academic and personal development of student‑athletes in line with school values.
Ensure safety protocols are followed during practices and performances.
Collaborate with the Athletic Department, administration, and parent groups as needed.
QualificationsPrior cheerleading/coaching experience preferred (high school, all‑star, or collegiate level).
Strong communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to model and instill values consistent with the mission of SPCHS.
Knowledge of cheerleading techniques, safety standards, and competition/performance expectations.
CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
Must successfully complete background check and required diocesan trainings.
