Director of Operations Uranus Town Center, St. Robert, Missouri

Reports to: Chief Operating Officer

Position Type: Full-Time, Exempt

Compensation: $110,000 to $125,000 annually, based on experience, plus a performance-based annual bonus with a target opportunity of 15% of base salary. Relocation assistance may be available for qualified candidates.

About the Opportunity

Uranus Town Center is seeking an experienced Director of Operations to lead one of America’s most distinctive roadside destinations.

Located along Interstate 44 near Fort Leonard Wood, Uranus Town Center serves regional visitors, military families, interstate travelers, and destination guests from across the country. The property employs approximately 50 team members and includes retail, restaurant, entertainment, attraction, fulfillment, facilities, and property operations.

  • Warehouse and e-commerce fulfillment

The Director of Operations is the senior onsite leader responsible for the financial performance, people, operating standards, guest experience, safety, property readiness, and future growth of the Missouri location.

This position oversees the General Manager and senior leaders responsible for retail, food service, attractions, fulfillment, facilities, and other operating departments.

This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position for an experienced operator who can develop strong managers, improve performance, establish accountability, and bring multiple businesses together as one cohesive destination.

The Director must be equally comfortable reviewing financial results, developing managers, walking the property, solving operating problems, engaging with guests, and stepping into the operation when additional leadership is needed.

A major early responsibility will be leading the successful opening and stabilization of Tacos Uranus, including building the team, establishing operating systems, controlling food and labor costs, and delivering strong launch.

First-Year Priorities

During the first year, the Director of Operations will be expected to:

  • Successfully open and stabilize Tacos Uranus.
  • Establish a consistent operating rhythm, performance scorecard, and accountability system.
  • Strengthen the General Manager and senior department-management team.
  • Improve labor productivity, inventory control, property readiness, and guest experience.
  • Develop consistent operating procedures and communication routines.
  • Create operating plans supporting future concepts, attractions, and property expansion.
Core Responsibilities Operational Leadership
  • Translate company goals into clear operating plans, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Ensure all businesses are properly staffed, stocked, organized, safe, clean, and prepared to serve guests.
  • Establish consistent procedures, communication routines, and operating standards throughout the property.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence during peak travel periods, weekends, holidays, seasonal operations, and special events.
  • Identify performance gaps and recurring problems, determine root causes, and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Oversee new concepts, property projects, business expansions, and operating initiatives from planning through execution.
  • Ensure managers communicate effectively and operate as one leadership team.
Financial and Business Performance
  • Monitor sales, labor, staffing plans, food cost, inventory, production, waste, expenses, and profitability across all business areas.
  • Hold managers accountable for understanding their financial results and implementing plans to improve performance.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue, improve productivity, control expenses, and use company resources more effectively.
  • Maintain appropriate controls for purchasing, receiving, inventory, cash handling, discounts, refunds, loss prevention, and company assets.
