Heidelberg Materials is seeking an Electrical Engineer Intern to support maintenance and optimization of electrical systems in a manufacturing environment. You will assist with troubleshooting plant equipment, updating electrical drawings, supporting PLC and motor control projects, and helping implement safety and reliability improvements. Working with experienced engineers and technicians, you'll gather data, analyze performance, and help implement solutions that support production, energy efficiency, and sustainability while learning industry standards and best practices in a hands-on, safety-first setting.
Responsibilities
- Assist with troubleshooting and maintenance of plant electrical systems and equipment
- Support updates to electrical schematics, panel layouts, and documentation
- Help with PLC, motor control, and automation projects under supervision
- Collect and analyze equipment performance data to improve reliability
- Participate in implementing electrical safety and lockout/tagout practices
- Support implementation of energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives
- Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and operations staff on projects
- Assist in commissioning, testing, and validation of new or upgraded equipment
