About the RoleAs a Manufacturing Associate with SMX, you are a vital part of the team that builds the metal components powering modern engines and transmissions. This role is for those who take pride in hands-on work and enjoy seeing the immediate results of their efforts. You will be responsible for operating production machinery, ensuring parts meet strict quality standards, and keeping our production lines moving safely and efficiently.

In this role, success is measured by your ability to maintain a steady workflow, adhere to safety guidelines, and ensure that every part leaving your station meets our quality requirements. Your daily responsibilities will include:
- Machine Operation: Monitoring and running production equipment used to press, shape, or finish metal components. You will make minor adjustments to ensure the equipment runs smoothly.
- Loading and Unloading: Manually placing raw materials into machines and removing finished parts. This is a physical role that requires repetitive motion and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Quality Assurance: Using basic measuring tools to inspect parts for defects, cracks, or size inconsistencies, and reporting any issues immediately.
- Workflow Efficiency: Following specific work orders and process plans to meet daily production goals.
- Safety and Organization: Maintaining a clean, orderly workspace, clearing scrap, and consistently following all facility safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Flexibility: Rotating between different machines or assembly stations as needed to support production flow.
- At least 6 months of experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or production environment.
- Demonstrated experience operating production machinery.
- Ability to stand for the duration of a full shift and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Capability to read and interpret standardized work instructions and process plans.
- A strong commitment to safety protocols and the ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Previous experience working with metal fabrication or automotive components.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as calipers or micrometers.
- History of working in a team-based environment focused on continuous improvement.
