Senior Accountant

• Salem, MA (On site, 5 days in office)
• $90k-$120k + Bonus
• Room for eventual management growth

This role supports the financial reporting and accounting operations of our client, a growing organization that provides financing solutions to small and mid-market companies. The ideal candidate will contribute to the accuracy of financial information, support process improvements, and be very hands on, with a "roll up your sleeves" attitude.

• Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
• Maintain and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal policies and accounting standards.
• Support preparation of internal financial reports and management analysis.
• Contribute to the documentation and improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
• Collaborate with teams across the organization to gather information needed for accounting and reporting activities.
• Assist with audits and provide requested documentation to external and internal stakeholders.
• Monitor and analyze balance sheet and income statement activity to identify variances or unusual trends.
• Support implementation or optimization of accounting systems and reporting tools as needed.
• Participate in special projects and other accounting initiatives as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Several years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate accounting or financial services environment.
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience with general ledger systems and month-end close processes.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

• Experience in lending, financing, or financial services organizations.
• Exposure to audits, process improvement initiatives, or system implementations.
• Public accounting experience a plus
