Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accounts Payable Specialist role based in Salem, MA. The Accounts Payable Specialist will review, process, and reconcile vendor invoices and expense reports, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies. This role will prepare and post accounting journal entries, support month-end closing activities, and assist with basic finance tasks related to payables. The specialist will communicate with vendors regarding payment status and discrepancies, maintain organized records, and collaborate with internal teams to resolve billing issues.
The role requires consistent attention to detail, timely processing of payments, and support of the overall financial operations of the company.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Accounting and Finance skills, including understanding of accounts payable processes.
- Candidates should possess skills in Expense Reports and Journal Entries (Accounting) for accurate recording and reconciliation.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to review data, identify discrepancies, and support decision-making.
- Proficiency with accounting or ERP software and Microsoft Excel is beneficial.
- Prior experience in an accounts payable or bookkeeping role is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines are required.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and a collaborative mindset are important.
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is beneficial.
