The Elementary Science Implementation Consultant for STEM Enrichment Position

SPS is seeking experienced Salem elementary educator teachers to serve as the Read Trust- funded The Elementary Science Implementation Consultant for STEM Enrichment for the duration of one academic year. The Elementary Science Implementation Consultant for STEM Enrichment will be supervised by the 6-12 Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment, collaborate with the Lead Science Coach, and partner with building based leaders to organize enrichment STEM activities (details below) in a way that is equitable across Salem Public Schools.

The compensation for this work will be $5000 paid out in two installments.

Elementary Science Implementation Consultant for STEM Enrichment Responsibilities:

* Collaborate with the Lead Science Coach and 6-12 CIA Director for the comprehensive field trip plan.

* Communicate with appropriate partner vendors to provide a scope of work for the year.

* Submit the scope of work to the Read Trust grants manager and provide requisitions for the work.

* Communicate with each vendor and school point person to schedule each field trip per the comprehensive field trip plan and Read Trust allocation.

* Communicate with Transportation and provide a requisition to the Read Trust grants manager for each excursion.

* Provide the Read Trust grant manager with all invoices after field trips have been completed.

* Follow up with the Lead Science Coach and 6-12 CIA Director to provide feedback on the vendors in order to plan for FY26-27 and contribute to the FY27 Read Trust proposal.

School-Based Point Person for Field Trip Responsibilities (not the responsibilities of this position)

* Communicate with the Elementary Science Implementation Consultant for STEM Enrichment in a timely manner regarding scheduling and participation

* For each field trip:

* Secure the required amount of chaperones

* Coordinate with SFNS to provide lunch/snacks

* Coordinate appropriate permission forms

* Secure nursing personnel if needed

* Has a deep understanding of the complexities of the partner and financial landscape of Salem Public Schools.

Qualifications:

* Current educator in Salem Public Schools

* Experience organizing transportation for field trips in SPS

* Experience with STEM enrichment vendors

* Experience with the SPS grant systems of acquiring quotes, creating requisitions, and providing invoices
