Role Responsibilities:
- Teaches Exploratory and Electricity courses to grades 9-12.
- Aligns all teaching and learning to the MA VTE frameworks and the competencies for Electricity.
- Oversees the Advisory Board for Electricity.
- Ensures that OSHA standards are enforced, and that all safety protocol is followed.
- Plans and uses appropriate instructional and learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect understanding of the learning styles and needs of students assigned.
- Demonstrates knowledge of students’ IEPs, and the accommodations and modifications necessary for student success.
- Responds to any correspondence, both oral and written, from parents or guardians.
- Provides structure in the classroom by promoting a positive classroom environment that is conducive to learning for students of all backgrounds and language proficiency levels.
- Works under the general supervision of the CTE Director, building principal and other building administrators, manages student behavior, assesses and evaluates student achievement; utilizes Standards Based Grading as it is adopted and integrated into the CTE curriculum.
- Participates in all professional responsibilities including but not limited to Coordinated Program Reviews, Advisory board meetings, Open Houses, departmental meetings, IEP meetings, etc.
- Accepts additional responsibilities as may be required under the direction of the Director of Career & Technical Education.

- Current MA Master Electrician license and/or MA Journeyman license.
- Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to electricity.
- Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus.

- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- High school diploma or the equivalent.
- Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure as a Voc Tech Teacher:
Construction Cluster‑Electricity (or certifiable). - Current MA Master Electrician license and/or MA Journeyman license.
- Five years of full-time employment experience directly related to electricity.
- Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) Endorsement (Required within 1-year of start date).
- Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus.
