Job DescriptionExpanding Horizons is an after school and summer program that operates at Collins Middle School and serves Salem students in grades 6-8. Expanding Horizons is seeking one Student Support Advisor and one paraprofessional/Group Leader to work on Mondays and Wednesdays during the 9-week Spring session that will run April 6‑June 11 (not during April vacation). The program runs from 3:15‑6:00 pm.

Student Support Advisors build strong positive youth‑adult relationships, and do check‑ins and follow‑ups with students who have attendance and behaviour challenges.

Group Leaders are essential in supporting students and assisting lead facilitators in the day‑to‑day operations of the program. Within their assigned group, Group Leaders lead games and activities to build students’ social‑emotional skills, reinforce behaviour expectations and routines, and provide academic support. Group leaders will build strong positive youth‑adult relationships. Each group leader is assigned to one cohort of 15‑20 students during our Enrichment block, but helps support all students during the rest of the program day.
Compensation: $20‑$25 an hour (higher range for SPS paraprofessionals)
