Job DescriptionProgram Goal: The 21C Educator Internship provides high school students interested in education careers with a full‑time summer internship. Interns gain valuable hands‑on experience while providing essential support to students at 21st CCLC summer sites.
Commitment: A 5‑week summer program. Interns are expected to be available for the entire duration of the program.
Requirements:
- Attend internship and assigned program orientation in June.
- Participate in 5 weekly workshop sessions during the internship period.
- Mandatory orientation: attend in June (tentative: June 24th and/or June 25th, 2026).
- Full commitment: must be available for the full 5‑week program, July 6 – August 7 2026.
- Student focus: interested in working with elementary and/or middle school‑aged students.
- Eligibility: current 11th or 12th grader within Salem Public Schools.
- Paperwork: must complete all Summer Work Permit requirements.
Preferred Candidates:
- Participated in an OST Internship during the 2025–2026 School Year.
- Ability to demonstrate commitment to the full duration of the summer program.
- Clear communication skills and willingness to work with young people in a variety of school/camp based activities.
- Interested in a career in education or youth services.
- Prior experience working with young people.
- Final date to receive applications: Complete 21C Intern Application by May 31 2026.
