Summer Camps/Programs
Salem Public Schools is seeking dedicated, student-centered educators and therapists for our 2026 Extended School Year (ESY) program. Our mission is to provide high-quality, specialized instruction in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) to ensure students with disabilities maintain progress and thrive during the summer months. We value practitioners who are reflective, collaborative, and committed to equity and high expectations for all learners.
ProgramSchedule & Logistics
- Dates: July 6 – August 6, 2026 (Monday – Thursday)
- Pre-Planning: Teachers will receive 3 hours of compensation for pre‑planning and classroom setup.
- Location: Witchcraft Elementary
- Preference: Priority is given to applicants who can commit to the full 5‑week session.
Para/Beh Spec
Hours:
- Preschool Intensive: 8:25 AM – 12:10 PM
- Elementary: 7:55 AM – 12:40 PM
- Grades 6–Post‑High: 8:55 AM – 1:40 PM
Responsible for assisting the classroom teacher with delivery of specialized curriculum and implementation of student IEPs.
- Key Duties: Assist with behavior management, provide general supervision, and support students’ social‑emotional interactions throughout the school day.
- Note: Some positions may require 1:1 support for specific students as mandated by their IEP.
- Compensation: Paid at the Intensive Paraprofessional contract rate.
The Behavior Specialist provides essential behavioral support to the program as a whole.
- Key Duties: Work collaboratively with the BCBA, counselors, administrators, and classroom staff to ensure student safety, implement behavioral intervention plans, and respond to crisis situations across the school environment.
- Compensation: Paid at the Behavior Specialist contract rate.
