This individual is accountable for the teaching and supervision of students in the Medical Assisting program based on the Chapter 74 Massachusetts state frameworks.
Role Responsibilities- Responsible for the standards‑based instruction of students in Medical Assisting.
- Responsible for integration of the department’s curriculum and alignment of the CVTE state frameworks to the course.
- Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements- Associate degree or higher in a related field.
- Four years of full‑time employment experience directly related to medical assisting.
- Required Massachusetts teaching certification/licensure in Medical Assisting – Chapter 74 (or willingness to work toward).
- Current authorization to work in the United States.
- Bilingual candidates and candidates of color strongly encouraged to apply.
- Second language (Spanish and/or Portuguese) proficiency a plus.
- Advanced educational preparation.
- Curriculum development experience and knowledge of technical competencies with curriculum frameworks.
- Proficiency with technology such as blended learning, teacher/family communication suites (Remind preferred), Google G‑Suite Apps, etc.
- Demonstrated experience supporting students with disabilities.
- Demonstrated experience supporting English language learners.
Teachers in Salem Public Schools work a 185‑day school year (180 student contact days plus 5 professional development days).
SalaryTeacher salaries in the Salem Public Schools are determined by the Salem Teachers Union collective bargaining agreement (2024‑2027). Salary information can be found in Appendix
A.
