Overview: Join the SHS Tutoring Center team and make a difference in students’ academic success! Tutors provide one-on-one and small-group support in a friendly, collaborative environment. You’ll help students across a range of subjects, with opportunities to focus on writing, reading, and/or math.
Roles & Responsibilities- Provide academic support to students in individual and small-group settings.
- Write brief session reports to track student progress.
- Help promote the Tutoring Center to the school community.
- Assist with daily operations to keep the center running smoothly.
Hours:
Part-Time, Flexible within SHS Tutoring Center hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30AM-4:00PM)
Compensation:
Hourly, commensurate with qualifications and experience

Alexandra Kirby, Early College Coordinator

SHS Tutoring Center (2nd floor, SHS IMC)
This is a non-union, grant-funded position.

- Comfort assisting in writing and/or math, guiding students through problem-solving and assignments.
- Previous tutoring experience, familiarity with tutoring strategies and best practices, and experience working in a high school setting preferred.
- Current SHS students and staff are encouraged to apply.
- Ability to collaborate in a team environment.
- Familiarity with general academic subjects.
- Advanced proficiency in writing, reading, and/or math is a plus.
