21C High School Summer Internship Site Coordinator

Compensation: $45 Hourly Rate

Job Description & Program Goal:

The 21C Internship Coordinator oversees high school students pursuing careers in education. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between student interns and classroom teachers, ensuring that interns receive high-quality professional development while providing meaningful support to 21st CCLC summer sites.

Coordinator Commitment:

This is a 5-week summer program running from July 6th – August 7th, 2026. The Coordinator is also responsible for facilitating the internship orientation in June.

Estimated Workload: 8-10 hours weekly

Key Responsibilities:

  • Onboarding & Orientation: Lead the Summer Internship Orientation in June and support the hiring/onboarding process, including student work permits. Support YMCA teacher orientation to introduce the intern roles and opportunities to engage them in classrooms over the summer. Tentative dates for intern
  • Instructional Coaching: Conduct weekly site observations using a standardized tool and lead dedicated coaching cycles to provide interns with actionable feedback on their teaching practice.
  • Observations: Travel to summer intern location sites, conduct weekly observations of interns, and provide feedback to interns
  • Teacher Collaboration: Schedule regular "Connect Time" with classroom teachers to strategize on how to best engage interns and paraprofessionals, and integrate them into daily classroom instruction.
  • Professional Development: Facilitate 5 weekly workshop sessions (1–1.5 hours each) focused on educator preparation and workforce skills.
  • Program Liaison: Conduct weekly check-ins with Program Site Coordinators to ensure alignment between intern roles and site needs.
  • Administrative Oversight: Monitor and process bi-weekly timesheets; lead the End of Program celebration and certification process.

  • Elementary
    - Horace Mann
    - July 6 – Aug 7 - Mon – Fri - 8:00 am – 4:00 pm
  • Middle School
    - Collins Middle
    - July 6 – Aug 6 - Mon – Thu - 8:30 am – 2:30 pm

Qualifications:

Seeking instructional coach, administrator or highly skilled licensed teacher.
