Overview

Salem State University Nursing School invites applications for adjunct faculty with interest and experience teaching Mental Health in a clinical setting. Teaching assignments may include days, evenings, or weekends and range from 6 to 15 hours per week over the course of the semester.

Duties and Responsibilities

Work collaboratively with faculty, in a school with future-directed leadership and a collective focus on academic excellence, student success, and faculty development.

Required Qualifications
  • Hold a current unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nursing license.
  • Graduate degree in nursing. Minimum of five years of full‑time registered nurse experience within the last eight years. Evidence of clinical competency in clinical instruction.
  • Baccalaureate degree in nursing and meet at least one of the following criteria:
    • Matriculation in a graduate nursing program with expected graduation date within five years of the date of appointment.
  • Possess a related non‑nursing graduate degree.
  • Possess a current Nurse Education Certification recognized by a Massachusetts Board certified organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to collaboration and collegiality.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching, supervision, and advising.
  • Strength and potential for excellence and leadership in community engagement and university services.
  • Appropriate terminal degree.
  • College‑level teaching experience, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Experience teaching a multicultural population.
Working Location

This is an onsite position in Salem, MA with some on‑campus, in‑person responsibilities.
