JOB

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Originate applications in accordance with company policy, compliance, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Respond promptly to inbound mortgage inquiries and follow up on company-generated leads.
  • Conduct borrower consultations to understand financial goals and recommend appropriate loan products.
  • Analyze borrower financial information, including income, assets, credit, and debt obligations.
  • Pre‑qualify and pre‑approve applicants in accordance with company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain a consistent pipeline through proactive outbound calling, email, and text communication.
  • Guide borrowers through the loan application process and collect required documentation.
  • Collaborate with processors, underwriters, and closing teams to ensure timely loan completion.
  • Maintain accurate records and notes within the company CRM and loan origination system.
  • Leverage systems and data to follow up and follow through on perspective leads for future conversion purposes.
  • Meet or exceed monthly sales, conversion, and funding goals.
  • Stay current on mortgage products, industry trends, lending regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Deliver exceptional customer service and build long‑term client relationships.
EDUCATION, LICENSES And/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree (B.

A.) from four‑year college or university; or one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salem Five Mortgage Company is exempt from individual state licensing requirements for individual Mortgage Loan Officers (MLOs). Salem Five requires each Mortgage Loan Officer to be federally registered through the National Mortgage Licensing System and individual records to be in good standing.

Individual NMLS IDs renew annually.

  • Active Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) license/NMLS registration preferred (or ability to obtain).
  • Minimum [1–3] years of mortgage lending, loan origination, inside sales, or financial services experience preferred.
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, goal‑oriented environment.
  • Experience with CRM systems and mortgage loan origination software.
  • Knowledge of conventional, FHA and VA products is a plus.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and digital communication tools.

Salary Range

$15.00 an hour (minimum wage) plus commissions
