Hair Stylist Job Description Responsibilities
- Help clients decide their ideal haircut and hairstyle.
- Complete haircutting techniques, including trims, layers, and texturizing.
- Perform hair coloring methods, such as highlights, ombre, and balayage.
- Style hair, including blowouts, curls, braids, ponytails, and updos.
- Upsell clients on products and services.
- Develop ongoing relationships with clients.
- Keep a clean station and sanitize all tools.
- Follow all salon policies and procedures.
- Knows haircutting, hairstyling, and hair coloring best practices.
- Communicates clearly and has strong active listening skills.
- Builds long-term relationships with clients and has excellent social skills.
- Collaborates with other hair stylists and managers and is a team player.
- Works confidently in a fast-paced salon, has good time-management skills, is punctual, and is detail oriented.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- An active cosmetology license in MA is required.
