Outpatient Dietitian
Manages comprehensive medical nutritional care for patients, including nutrition assessment, development of nutrition care plans, dietary modification, nutrition education, and all activities related to the nutritional needs of the patient/client population.
Essential Functions:
- Develops and implements a nutrition plan of care for patients based on multiple criteria.
- Documents all nutrition-related information, including assessment, nutrition therapy recommendations, care plan, follow-up data and changes, diet consultation results, discharge planning, daily clinical activities, and other related orders and pertinent information.
- Counsels, educates, and develops resources and materials to educate patients, families, & caregivers on prescribed therapeutic diets.
- Partners with food service staff to ensure meals, supplements, and nutrition support is provided; reviews patients' menu selections to monitor compliance with modified diets.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree related field of study or Master's Degree related field of study required.
- Dietitian and Nutritionist [State License] - Generic - HR Only required.
- Registered Dietitian [RD/RDN] - Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required.
- Completion of dietetic internship required.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to effectively evaluate and problem solve.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to guide, teach, and motivate all patient age populations.
- Spanish speaking preferred.
