Position: Digital Accessibility Project Manager (Title II Lead)

Digital Accessibility Project Manager (Title II Lead)

The Digital Accessibility Project Manager (Title II Lead) coordinates Salem State University’s institution-wide digital accessibility and ADA Title II compliance efforts, providing strategic leadership for digital accessibility governance, standards, inventory, remediation, and institutional guidance. The role serves as the primary subject‑matter expert within Information Technology Services, leading technical accessibility efforts and liaising with academic and administrative units responsible for compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee digital accessibility compliance initiatives across the university.
  • Develop and maintain accessibility standards and policies aligned with ADA Title II and WCAG 2.1 AA.
  • Manage projects, plan and execute cross‑functional initiatives, and coordinate work with multiple campus groups.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across technical and non‑technical backgrounds.
  • Prioritize projects, document progress, and ensure timely completion of remediation activities.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in project management or related field, or equivalent professional accessibility experience in an enterprise environment.
  • Working knowledge of ADA Title II requirements and WCAG 2.1 AA standards.
  • Project management experience, including planning, execution, and documentation of complex initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a related field.
  • Professional accessibility certifications such as CPACC, WAS, or PMI.
  • Experience in higher education or public‑sector environments.
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing tools and remediation processes.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical and regulatory concepts to diverse audiences.
Working Location

On‑site position in Salem, MA. Responsibilities are primarily in‑person, with occasional evening or weekend work.
