Brief Unit
Description:
All IV Therapy Registered RN's must be ablento achieve and maintain the required core IV Therapy skills/competencies fornthe department, which are: a) Peripheral IV insertion; b) CVAD dressing change.; c) Non-tunneled CVAD removal; d) Reconstitution, instillation and removal of thrombolytic; e) Access/ de-access implanted ports; f) Repositioning a peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC); g) Ultrasound Guided IV lines.nYears of Experience
Required:
Minimum 2 years of experience workingnin IV/Venous Access team.
Skilln Sets
Required:
IVninsertion, Ultrasound Guided IVs, Picc line insertion.
Education Required:
BSN Preferred.
Patientn Population: ALL Ages nNeonatal, infant, pediatrics, adult, & geriatrics
EMRn(Charting System) & Equipment Used: EPIC.Floatingn
