Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for night shifts in a Level III trauma center, requiring a MA RN license and expertise in medical ICU care.
Responsibilities- Work in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at a Level III trauma center
- Night shift position from 19:00 to 07:30 with every other weekend required
- Adult patient population with diagnoses including substance abuse/overdose, psychiatric conditions, DKA, sepsis, GI bleed, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, renal failure, and cardiogenic shock
- Attendings and residents are present in the ICU 24/7
- Floating required, primarily to medical/surgical units with patient ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 when floated
- ICU RN to patient ratio is 1:2 or 1:1 for high acuity cases
- Requires telemetry competency and ability to read tele strips
- Uses Epic for charting
- Must float to med/surg units as needed
- Flu vaccination is required with no exemptions permitted
- Free on-site parking available
- Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to qualify for standard rate
- First time travelers are not specifically excluded
- Scrub color and dress code details provided upon assignment
- Holiday coverage may be required as scheduled
- Active unrestricted MA RN license required at the time of consideration; no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- BLS and ACLS certifications required, American Heart Association (AHA) only
- Minimum 2 years of continuous adult ICU experience, preferably in a MICU
- Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
- Experience with EPIC EMR preferred
