Unit Name: WOCN Certified Inpatient Wound Nurse

Unit

Description:

Wound nurses respond to consults and manage the wound census throughout the hospital.

• Respond to wound consults
• Manage wound census for the hospital
• Perform wound staging
• Change VAC dressings
• Complete wound consult documentation
• Manage new ostomy care

Years of

Experience:

2 years of direct wound care experience

Required Skill Sets: Wound staging, VAC dressing change, completion of wound consults, management of new ostomies

Bachelor of Science in Nursing or higher

• Clinician to patient ratio: 2‑3 Wound RNs per day (Monday–Friday)
• Patient population:
  Significant wounds
• Census: 400‑bed community hospital

EPIC charting system

No floating required; no rotating shifts

• W.O.C.N.
• AHA BLS

Pay package based on 8‑hour shifts, 40.0 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with a tax‑free stipend amount to be determined.
