Position: Registered Nurse (RN) Observation Unit - Overnights

About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Observation Unit is responsible for managing all aspects of the nursing process and delivering patient and family‑centered care during overnight shifts. This role is ideal for experienced nurses who are committed to providing high‑quality, cost‑effective patient care.

What You'll Do
  • Manage all aspects of the nursing process and patient care delivery.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care for assigned patients.
  • Educate patients and families on disease processes and treatment plans.
  • Maintain competency in nursing practice and clinical skills.
  • Delegate appropriate nursing activities to unlicensed personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and standards.
  • Participate in the hiring and evaluation of assigned personnel.
  • Conduct and participate in multidisciplinary team conferences.
  • Identify areas for improvement and develop plans for compliance.
Requirements
  • Education: Nursing diploma required, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Experience: 3+ years of IV and PICC experience required; 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred

    Certifications:

    Current RN License in Massachusetts required; BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS certification may be required for specific units
