Job Summary
Registered Nurse manages all aspects of the nursing process and delivery of patient and family‑centered care at North Shore Medical Center, Inc., part of Mass General Brigham. Responsible for requesting and using governing and administrative resources, technology and support systems, and multidisciplinary clinical experts necessary to manage and deliver quality, cost‑effective patient care.

Minimum 3 years critical care or specialty experience. ACLS and PALS certification required. PACU experience preferred. - ICU

Computer skills and ability to quickly gain competency in hospital software. Minimum 2 years medical/surgical nursing experience, 2 years recent cardiac intensive nursing care. Critical care education required. Knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation principles and behavior modification strategies. BLS, ACLS, ANCC Cardiac Vascular Nursing Certification preferred. - Med Surg

Inpatient Pediatric Unit and Pediatric Emergency Department: BLS and PALS certification required; ENPC preferred for Pediatric ED nurses. Pediatric Special Care Nursery: BLS and NRP certification required. Labor and Delivery: BLS certification with EFM preferred. Minimum 2 years experience in Pediatric or Labor and Delivery Nursing. - Pre‑Op Evaluation

- Plan, implement, evaluate, and manage care for all patients, considering age, developmental, socioeconomic, psychological, physical, spiritual, and cultural factors.
- Practice reflects current nursing literature and resources, demonstrating ongoing learning in contemporary medicine.
- Maintain competency in nursing practice and clinical skills; produce an annual professional development plan.
- Complete mandatory educational requirements.
- Assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care consistent with the medical plan and responsive to patient needs.
- Delegate nursing activities to unlicensed personnel based on patient stability, trainer capability, task nature, and proximity.
- Collect and analyze patient information.
- Collaborate with patient, family, physicians, and health‑care team to expedite and coordinate delivery of services and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Collaborate with physician regarding patient clinical status, treatment plans, progress toward outcomes, and next level of care.
- Maintain continuity of care, delivery process, and family communication to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Assess patient learning needs and develop a teaching plan.
- Educate patients and families about disease processes, testing, medications, signs and symptoms.
- Communicate progress to other team members.
- Ensure timely initiation, completion, documentation of nursing care, tests, treatments, teaching, and discharge planning.
