Job Summary
We are looking for a seasoned, part time 20 hours per week Pediatric Nurse Practitioner for evening shift coverage. The shifts are 10 hours in duration, 1:00 PM-11:00 PM. Rotating weekend and holiday commitment. This is a busy community ED serving patients from birth through 21 years of age.
The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for assessing and managing various patient populations, including those with medical and/or surgical conditions, as well as providing diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, developing appropriate plans of care, and conducting ongoing evaluations. May also perform additional duties, such as precepting a small group of learners.

Essential Functions- Provides direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and/or procedural settings.
- Performs complete histories and physical examinations.
- Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings.
- Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Consistently provides high-quality and timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
- Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population.
Master's Degree Nursing required
Licenses and CredentialsAdvanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] - Generic - HR Only required
Experience2 years of licensed nurse practitioner experience
Preferred andRequired Qualifications
- Pediatric nurse practitioner board certification preferred
- BLS/PALS certification required
- 3+ years of Pediatric experience in an emergency department or urgent care environment required
- Successful candidates should have experience with pediatric wound repair/suturing, treatment of orthopedic injuries, incision and drainage, as well as prior experience with pediatric mental health
