Description:
The position is for an RN specializing in Labor and Delivery and Postpartum nursing. The unit is a 25-bed Labor and Delivery Unit. It includes Labor and Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Care, two Operating Rooms, two Recovery Rooms, and two Antepartum Units. The clinician to patient ratio for Labor and Delivery is 1:2-3 for evaluations, and 1:1 for active labor, Magnesium drip, or Epidural.
In the Postpartum unit, the ratio is 1:3-4. There are 5 Labor and Delivery rooms and 12 Postpartum rooms available. The daily average census ranges from 15 to 25 mothers, babies, and labors. The electronic medical record system used for charting is EPIC. Floating to other units is not required. Rotation to evening and night shifts may be necessary. Straight day shifts are not available.
