Travel RN - Psychiatric

American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Adult Psychiatric inpatient unit requiring a minimum of 2 years of inpatient adult psych experience and an active MA RN license.

• Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
• BLS certification required (AHA only)
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Omni Cell automated medication dispensing system required
• Proficiency with psychotropic medications and their side effects required
• Experience with IV pumps and diabetic patient care required
• Ability to function as charge nurse and independently complete admissions and discharges
• 2 professional references required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required — no religious or medical exemptions accepted

• Work on a 30-bed adult inpatient psychiatric unit (Epstein
  5)
• Patient population includes adults ages 18–65 with diverse mental health diagnoses including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder, and dual diagnosis/detox
• Medically acute patients are also treated on the unit, including those requiring IV therapy, CPAP, wound care, and diabetic management
• RN-to-patient ratio is 1:7 or 1:8
• Charting is done in Epic
• Rotating shifts required: 7a–7p, 11a–11p, and 7p–7a (Day Rotate)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required
• 13-week contract
• Candidates must provide proof of active MA RN licensure at the time of consideration — no pending licenses accepted
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of application
• Local candidates residing within 60 miles of Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston are eligible to apply
• Public parking is not validated at Boston-area locations; public parking lots are available at the candidate's expense, and public transportation is an option
