American Traveler is seeking an experienced Float Pool RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring 2 years of acute care and travel nursing experience, with night shift and every-other-weekend availability.
Details- Float Pool position requiring flexibility to rotate across 8 different Med/Surg Telemetry units throughout the hospital (Davenport 5, Davenport 7, Davenport 8, Davenport 9, ED, PH6/7, Pingree 4, and Overflow)
- Patient population includes ED border patients, medication nurse role in the acute mental health unit, and care for non-vented transfer-ready ICU patients
- Patient ratio is up to 5:1 on days/evenings and up to 6:1 on nights
- Unit sizes range from 8 to 41 beds within a 371-bed facility
- Night shift schedule: 19:00–07:30, 36 hours per week
- Every-other-weekend requirement
- 1 to 3 day/evening rotation shifts per contract
- Charting via Epic (experience required)
- Free on-site parking available
- 13-week contract
- Active Massachusetts RN license required — no pending or conditional MA licenses accepted
- Current AHA BLS and AHA ACLS certifications required (AHA only; Red Cross and other providers not accepted at this location)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience at a single location
- Minimum 2 years of travel nursing experience
- Telemetry skills required: measuring intervals, interpreting tele strips every 4 hours, and managing cardiac drips
- TR Band experience required
- 2 references required for consideration
- Flu vaccine required; no religious or medical exemptions accepted
- Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, administering and managing cardiac drips, and reading and interpreting telemetry strips
- Local candidates must have a permanent residence more than 60 miles from Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston to be eligible for the standard travel pay rate
- RTO (requested time off) must be disclosed at the time of consideration
- Flu vaccine is required during flu season with no exemptions permitted
- Timekeeping system: UKG/Kronos
