American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical Telemetry (M/S Tele) night shift position requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and the ability to interpret telemetry strips.
Details- 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit in an acute care hospital setting
- Primary patient diagnoses include CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, and Pneumonia, as well as patients with EtOH and Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities
- Patients are frequently on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips; NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac cath lab patients are also cared for on this unit
- Night shift RN-to-patient ratio is 1:5–6;
Day/Evening shift ratio is 1:4 with a maximum of 1:5 - Patients may be admitted from the ED, transferred from other units, or directly admitted by a physician
- Night shift positions do not rotate between shifts
- Float to applicable units required when census demands
- Charting is done in Epic
- Schedule is nights (19:00–07:30), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required
- 13-week contract
- Active MA RN license required — no pending or conditional licenses accepted
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience in a single location and 2 years of travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification required
- Current Telemetry Certification required
- ACLS certification is optional but preferred
- Must be able to interpret telemetry strips and have knowledge of cardiac drips
- Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker care preferred but not required
- Epic EMR experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions
- 2 professional references required for consideration
- All certifications must be issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Free on-site parking is available at this location
- Candidates with a permanent residence within 60 miles of the facility are considered local and may be subject to a adjusted pay rate
