American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Telemetry RN for a night shift position requiring telemetry strip interpretation skills and prior travel nursing experience.

• Work on a 37-bed Medical Telemetry unit within a hospital setting
• Patients admitted from the ED, transferred from other units, or directly admitted by physicians
• Primary diagnoses include CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, and Pneumonia, with some patients presenting with EtOH or Dementia with cardiac co-morbidities
• Care for patients on Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin drips
• Care for NSTEMI, post-pacemaker, and post-cardiac cath lab patients
• Occasional surgical patients also admitted to the unit
• RN to patient ratio is 1:4 (max
  5) on day and evening shifts, and 1:5-6 on night shift
• Charge RN is assigned without a patient load on weekday day shifts
• Night shift schedule with every other weekend requirement
• 36 hours per week on a 13-week assignment
• Shift hours are 19:00-07:30 and do not rotate
• Uses EPIC EMR charting system
• Floating required to applicable units as needed

• Active MA RN license required (no conditional or pending licenses accepted)
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• Telemetry certification required
• Minimum of 2 years experience working in one location and 2 years of travel nursing experience required
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Knowledge of cardiac drips required
• Experience with post-cardiac catheterization and pacemaker patient care preferred but not required
• EPIC EMR experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed

• Provide direct patient care on a busy medical telemetry unit including cardiac drip management and continuous cardiac monitoring
• May rotate between shifts (7a-7p, 11a-11p, or 7p-7a) infrequently if assigned to a day rotator position, though night positions do not rotate
• Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility to be eligible
• Free on-site parking available
