Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) – 36 Hours, Day/Evening/Night Rotate & Every Other Weekend

Salem, MA

Contract | 36 Hours per Week | Rotating Shifts (7a–7p, 11a–11p, or 7p–7a) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite

• Provide direct nursing care to patients on a 37-bed medical telemetry unit, including those admitted from the ED, transferred from other units, or directly admitted
• Monitor and manage patients on cardiac drips including Cardizem, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, and Heparin Care for patients with primary diagnoses including CHF, Atrial Fibrillation, Pulmonary Embolism, Pneumonia, and cardiac co-morbidities
• Interpret telemetry strips and respond appropriately to cardiac rhythm changes
• Provide post-procedure nursing care for patients following cardiac catheterization and pacemaker placement
• Float to applicable units as needed and rotate shifts between days, evenings, and nights as required

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) License
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
• Telemetry Certification
• Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a single location as an RN, plus a minimum of 2 years of travel nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR

• Experience providing nursing care for post-cardiac catheterization and post-pacemaker patients
• Familiarity with managing patients presenting with EtOH-related conditions and dementia with cardiac co-morbidities
• Prior experience in a high-census telemetry environment

• Work in a structured telemetry environment with defined nurse-to-patient ratios (1:4 with a max of 5 on days/evenings; 1:5–6 on nights) and dedicated charge RN support on weekday day shifts
