ICU Registered Nurse (MICU) – 36 hrs, Day Rotate / Every Other Weekend

Salem, MA

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Rotating Shifts (Days/Evenings/Nights) | Every Other Weekend Required

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at a Level III Trauma Center, managing a wide range of high-acuity adult diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, cardiac arrest, DKA, GI bleed, renal failure, cardiogenic shock, substance abuse/overdose, and severe psychiatric conditions
• Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:1 for high-acuity ICU patients; ratio adjusts to 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as required, managing up to 4–5 patients per assignment
• Accurately read and interpret telemetry strips as part of ongoing patient monitoring
• Document all patient care activities using the EPIC electronic medical records system
• Rotate shifts as assigned between 7a–7p, 11a–11p, or 7p–7a when in a Day Rotate position

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 2 years of continuous Adult ICU (MICU preferred) experience
• Demonstrated ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
• Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed

• 2+ years of continuous MICU experience in a single facility
• Prior experience with EPIC EMR charting system
• Experience caring for patients with complex diagnoses such as cardiogenic shock, respiratory failure, or substance abuse/overdose

• Work in a high-acuity Level III Trauma Center ICU with attending and resident physician coverage 24 hours per day
• Free on-site parking available
