American Traveler is hiring an Adult Psych RN for a 30-bed inpatient unit requiring 2+ years of inpatient adult psych experience and an active MA RN license.
Requirements- Active Massachusetts RN license required, no conditional or pending licenses accepted
- AHA BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of inpatient adult psychiatric nursing experience required
- Proficient in automatic medication dispensing systems (Omni Cell)
- Proficient in psychotropic medications and their side effects
- Competent in IV pump use and diabetic patient care
- Able to perform charge nurse duties and complete admissions and discharges
- Flu vaccination required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed
- Two professional references required
- 30-bed inpatient adult psychiatric unit treating patients ages 18-65
- Treats diverse mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder
- Cares for dual diagnosis patients undergoing detox alongside mental health treatment
- Manages some medically acute patients requiring IVs, CPAPs, wound care, and diabetic care
- Clinician to patient ratio of 1 RN to 7-8 patients
- Uses EPIC EMR charting system
- 32-hour schedule with Day Rotate (7a-7p, 11a-11p, 7p-7a) and every-other-weekend requirement
- Night shift positions available without rotation requirement
- Floating required
- Responsible for direct patient care including medication administration, admissions, and discharges on a busy adult psych unit
- May serve in charge nurse capacity as needed
- Local candidates must reside within 60 miles of the facility, with a reduced rate applying for this radius
- No validated parking available at Boston location; public transportation or paid public parking required
