Join a fast-paced Emergency Department travel nursing team in Salem, Massachusetts, and make a meaningful impact caring for patients across the lifespan. This 65-bed, pod-based ED includes dedicated pediatric and acute mental health areas, sees approximately 230 visits per day, and offers an engaging environment for an experienced Emergency Department RN. Salem combines historic New England charm, a vibrant coastal setting, and convenient access to the greater Boston area.

- End Date: January 30, 2027
- Schedule: 36 hours per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts

Hours:
7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. - Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: Approximately 1:4
- Documentation: EPIC ASAP
- Floating: ED Observation and Acute Mental Health areas as needed
- Shift Rotation: Night positions do not rotate; limited rotation may be requested for day-rotation coverage
Job Requirements
- At least 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in Massachusetts
- Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Strong general Emergency Department nursing skills and clinical judgment
- Experience caring for adult, pediatric, and behavioral health patients preferred
- NRP and TNCC certifications are strongly preferred
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and support care delivery across designated emergency services
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, prioritize care, and respond effectively to changing patient conditions
- Provide emergency nursing care to patients of all ages and acuity levels
- Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, EKGs, cardiac monitoring, point-of-care testing, and splinting
- Complete accurate clinical documentation in EPIC ASAP and communicate patient status to the interdisciplinary care team
- Use critical thinking to identify urgent needs and initiate appropriate interventions
- Provide patient and family education throughout the emergency care experience
- Support care in the ED Observation wing and Acute Mental Health area when assigned
- Collaborate with providers and colleagues to promote safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care
