What Our Veterinary Assistants Do

  • Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians with patient care and procedures
  • Support patient intake by gathering medical histories and taking vital signs
  • Prepare patients and exam rooms for appointments
  • Safely and compassionately handle and restrain animals of different sizes and temperaments
  • Administer medications and vaccines as directed by a veterinarian
  • Prepare treatment areas, instruments, and supplies for procedures
  • Maintain clean, organized, and properly sterilized clinical spaces
  • Help explain treatment plans, medications, and follow-up instructions to clients
  • Maintain accurate patient records and assist with basic clerical responsibilities
  • Support the hospital team in keeping appointments and daily workflows running smoothly
  • Help ensure every patient feels safe, comfortable, and cared for throughout their visit
